Dinners

Children may remain at school or go home for lunch If children remain at school they may bring a packed lunch or have a school meal. Thurrock Council provide our school dinners. Children can choose from three options each day; meat, fish or vegetarian.  They then have a choice of side dishes and a pudding, yoghurt or fruit.  The dinners consist of one item from every food group, giving a balance of nutrients required for our pupils. The cost of a school meal is £2.10 per day. Dinner money should only be sent into school on a Monday; correct money only, as no change can be given. Please ensure that dinner money is given to each sibling separately and not sent in for a whole family. Each child should bring their dinner money in an envelope clearly marked with their name and class. Paying by cheque is very helpful and cheques should be made payable to Benyon Primary School.

Should your child be absent from school he/she will be credited with a meal on their return. Parents are encouraged to apply through the school office for Free School Meals for their children if they are receiving Income Support or Jobseeker's Allowance.

Midday staff provide effective supervision at all times for children on the premises at lunchtime.
